The Joint Committee on Export Development considers matters concerning the Commonwealth's exports, trade, and international competitiveness; cultivation and promotion of Massachusetts as a global economic leader; development of partnerships between the Commonwealth and other states and nations related to trade and commerce; support of Massachusetts goods and services in national and international markets.

The Joint Committee on Public Service considers matters concerning the salaries, civil service and retirement of public employees (including the retirement of judges, court personnel and county employees but excluding the salaries of said judges, court personnel and county employees), collective bargaining for state employees and other public employees and such other matters as may be referred.
